Life Lesson #3

Forgive

Sometimes we hold on to things or events that have brought tremendous grief into our lives.  We somehow feel that never letting go of these things keeps those who offended us imprisoned.  The opposite is true.  Not forgiving keeps us bound, in pain and most importantly, blocks blessings.  You see, we cannot claim to be believers if we fail to believe in the power of forgiveness.  God commands us to forgive one another. Some things may seem unforgivable, trusting God to take care of the person/situation should be satisfying enough for us!  Letting go and forgiving does not mean you are freeing someone else, it means you are liberating yourself and allowing God to continue working in you and through you.  This next statement is what has really helped me in this area:  If our God can forgive us from hurting Him and His people, who are we not to forgive?

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”  1 John 1:9

Things to remember today:

Forgiveness is letting go of all hopes for a better past.

Forgiveness creates a world where we do not withhold our love from anyone.

Forgiveness means seeing the light of God in everyone-regardless of their behavior.

You either totally forgive, or you do not forgive at all.

What we need to forgive in others may be something in ourselves that we have hidden from our awareness.

Life Lessons

More life lessons:

~Spend more time with those who make you smile and less time with those who attempt to suck the life out of you!

~Those who gossip to you will also gossip about you. Steer clear!

~Treat every interaction with another person as an opportunity to make a positive impact in both your lives.

~Don’t be surprised when people don’t treat you well.  The greatest person who ever lived-Jesus Christ-was treated like a criminal.  It’s all in the way you react to it. Father, forgive them…..

~If you desire to be be blessed, be a blessing.

~Give it all to God, stay busy doing His work

Live What You Believe

As we are preparing for Christmas, let us not forget to live Christmas!

As we get busy during this time of year shopping, decorating, traveling, visiting, receiving guests, baking, cooking, and attending various events, it is important to remember the reason behind everything that we are doing.

Find your peace, then pass it on.

Share your joy.

Extend grace.

Give.

You are blessed to be a blessing!
