Seek, You WILL Find
There are times in my day when I pause and realize all that is good in my life. And maybe that’s normal for most people.
Maybe most people don’t even realize that they should cherish the life they are living. It seems like there is plenty of negativity around and it is magnified when you are a person viewing that from a “glass half full” lifestyle.
For example, when...

Love Is Life's Motivator
2 Corinthians 5:14
Anger can fuel hatred in a man’s heart until he feels like attacking his enemy. But love can spark kindness in his heart so he lays down his life for his friend. Selfishness can drive a woman to tighten her grip and hoard her resources. But love can inspire her to open her hands and give sacrificially. Love is the purest and most powerful motivator. It gives courage to a...

Sunday Take-A-Ways
Every time I get the opportunity to visit other churches and meet Pastors and their amazing teams, I am overjoyed!
Currently, I am in Boston, visiting two of my adult children. My son lives in Washington, D.C., but met us here for a couple of days. My daughter lives here and so Sunday we went to her church, StoryHeights.
When you walk into a church, or in this case a movie theater turned church...
Changes
With all the recent changes in my life, there are moments that I wonder how I got through some of them!
It’s in those moments that I realize the fullness of God’s grace. The power of His love. And the strength of His embrace which holds my heart in His.
God always has a dream for you, even when you think that you are done dreaming! Even when your dream has been confirmed and...

Love Anyway
I know you have moments, maybe even days, when you don’t feel like being kind, compassionate and caring. How do I know? Because I have those moments, too. And we are more alike than different!
Since we are called to love, we must obey. We are not called only to love on our good days, nor are we called to love only some people.
Love.
All.
Always!
Make everyday moments special by being totally present in each one!

It's A New Day!
What a great weekend! I hope that you celebrated Easter with your family, sharing the love and experiencing freedom in Christ.
Today a clean slate awaits us. I think it’s so awesome how God divided our time into 24 hour days here on earth!
All we have is right now. Today. We can’t change yesterday (no matter how much we’d like to or how hard we try). We can’t dive into...

Today's New(s)
Every day since the first day of this year I have tried something new! I thought it would add a new dimension to my life and it has! Now sometimes the “new thing” is big, but most days it’s something small, a new route home, a new restaurant, meeting someone new and asking them to have coffee, new routine, etc.
Today, I happened to try a new class at the gym. It’s...

Try This
When you meet someone for the first time, instead of saying, “nice to meet you”, try something different. Sometimes I say something about the uniqueness of their name, or something about the city they are from, etc. Put your own technique into it. Make it positive, different and memorable!
When someone asks “how are you?” try not to answer, “fine, and you?”...

Want More?
The more of ourselves we give to God~ our problems, our past, our present, our future, our worries, our sins, our bitterness, our unforgiveness,~ the more He will show up in our lives!
Are you waiting for God to show up in your life? Make sure you have given Him everything!

self or God-Esteemed?
Self esteem is the value or opinion of one’s one worth.
This morning as I was preparing for my day, I was thinking about the way we women view ourselves. In my travels, I have had the honor of meeting women from all walks of life. And there seems to be a common thread that I see among most, whether they are royalty, diplomats, celebrities, successful business women, moms, or anyone in...
Inspiration
This has been a week filled with friends and encouragement. More than any other week this year! I am not sure how my schedule even got filled that way, but it did. And that was how it was supposed to be, because God confirms our schedules, ultimately! I have been thinking about community and what it looks like in my life. Relationships and how they shape us, people and who we open our hearts to,...

If we only had so many words left to speak in our lifetime, I am sure we would be more thoughtful with what we said, right? Or what if we only had so many words that we could speak daily, sorta like an allotment?
That would be interesting, different, focused,

God Knows Best
God has a plan for your life, every part of your life. Every day of your life.
Sometimes, we forget that. Sometimes we fail to acknowledge that. and for some crazy reason, sometimes we feel we can do a better job at it than God!
Let go.
Know that God loves you so much, He gave up everything for you.
Give Him control, you’re not really that good at it anyway…..

Grace > sin
As I was doing my devotion this morning, I came across something that I knew, but reading it again in print made me think of it differently somehow:
God’s grace is greater than our sin.
So that reminded me of this verse in Philippians: Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:9 NIV)...

Mistakes...
What was said…..or unsaid What was done….or left undone Promises made and not kept Time spent thinking of what could have been instead of making peace with what is. Decisions made hastily rather than thought through. Losing our temper. Losing our focus. Losing a bit of our integrity as we join in mindless chatter. Feeling frustrated. Feeling jealous. Feeling unwanted - what a blow that...

24/48
No, not a new show on NBC, not even a new formula for math, ministry, teaching or parenting! However it is the number of hours (24) it took my daughter and I to go on a spontaneous round trip across Texas (which btw is bigger than any state should be) to visit my Mom! And the actual time we got to spend with her in hours (48)! I can be talked into some crazy fun stuff by my kids, they are...

Road Trip
My daughter and I decided to visit my Mom, who lives 571 miles away…..that’s nearly 10 hours by car. We were feeling pretty energetic! We thought it would be fun and it would be wonderful to visit! And so our road trip began. Just the two of us, doing our own thing, having a great time! We talked, had some serious conversations (my favorite kind)! Laughed a lot, played trivia games,...

Simple Prayer
Lord,
Teach us to pray with our lives.
May everything we say and everything we do bring glory to you.
Teach us to love like you love and to forgive like you forgive.
Thank you, Father, with love!

Happy New Year!
I know, I am a few days late!! Hey, it’s still a new year!!
I thought I would spread the joy out, so you wouldn’t be inundated with celebrations all in one day!
Here are some things that everyone should add to their list of things to accomplish in the next 12 months: (yes, purposefully I do avoid the word resolution!) I enjoy other words such as vision, goals, life...

Heart
This morning I was thinking of Christmas traditions. I have never been one to be stuck on rituals. Don’t get me wrong, I put up a Christmas tree every year, just not on the same day. We decorate it all together, not necessarily with same decorations from the previous year. My daughter and I enjoy baking together but usually it’s whatever we want to at that moment! This year she chose...

Amazing
There’s a peace that passes all understanding.
There’s a freedom that you find when you seek the truth.
There’s a joy that comes in the morning.
There’s a power in forgiving.
There’s a grace that is undeserved.
There’s a friend you can always count on.
There’s a love like no other…..His name is Jesus.

Live What You Believe
As we are preparing for Christmas, let us not forget to live Christmas!
As we get busy during this time of year shopping, decorating, traveling, visiting, receiving guests, baking, cooking, and attending various events, it is important to remember the reason behind everything that we are doing.
Find your peace, then pass it on.
Share your joy.
Extend grace.
Give.

You Can't Go On...
Heavy heart? Be grateful it’s beating.
At the bottom? Lift your hands and reach for God.
Desperate? You will move forward on your knees.
Depressed? Prayer changes things.
Lonely? A community awaits you, you were born for relationships.
Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.

Circle Of Love
Are you a nice person?
I find it takes little effort for people to be courteous. A smile, a greeting, a word of encouragement, a listening ear.
Whatever we invite into our lives will eventually make a home there, if we allow it.
What are you inviting in? What are you allowing to flow out?
It actually takes more energy to be rude or unkind. And the negativity that accompanies that energy...
Don't Ignore The Blessings......
This morning sitting at a repair shop getting my oil changed, I realized that divine interventions can come in the smallest packages!
I was sitting alone in the waiting area when a woman walked in and as we greeted each other with hello’s, she went on to share a bit of the reason she ended up here this morning. It was something about her a/c not working properly. Where I live you definitely...

Divine Appoinments
Sometimes we lose someone we love. Sometimes we grow distant from family or friends. And then there are times when it is the normal process in your family, your children grow up and begin life on their own. And there are times when we lose ourselves, or at least a part of who we are. These transitions can be good, painful or difficult. Sometimes, they can be all three!
For example, when my Dad...
